There is no single cheapest hotel for every city and date. Rates and availability change with season, demand and room type. This guide offers a budget-conscious way to search rather than a price list that may already be wrong.

Types of stays to compare

  • Hostels and private rooms: may suit solo travellers; check privacy, bathroom arrangements and location.
  • Guesthouses and small inns: compare arrival arrangements, included services and host communication.
  • Aparthotels: can work for families or longer stays; include cleaning and service charges in your total.
  • Hotels outside the centre: compare transport costs and daily travel time before choosing.
  • Established budget hotel brands: search the same property across providers and match room and cancellation terms.

A quick comparison plan

  1. Use the same dates and guest count on every site.
  2. Compare the full stay total, including taxes, cleaning or service fees.
  3. Check a map and travel time to the places you plan to visit.
  4. Read cancellation, payment and check-in conditions.
  5. Confirm the actual room details rather than relying on general property photos.

Use comparison tools such as Google Hotels to discover options, then verify the final price and conditions on the provider or property page. Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia are examples of established providers; availability, prices and payment terms are set on their pages at the time you search.
